In addition to practicing general urology, Dr. Smither has extensive experience working with patients with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and voiding dysfunction. She has a clinic which has full urodynamic capabilities and is easily accessible to mobility impaired patients.
Dr. Smither completed a bachelor of science degree at LSU Medical Center School of Allied Health in New Orleans. She earned her medical degree at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her urology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she also completed a fellowship in neuro-urology and reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Smither is a board-certified urologist, certified by the American Board of Urology. She is an active member of the American Urological Association, the Southeastern Section AUA, the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, the Society of Women in Urology, the American Medical Association and the Louisiana State Urological Society.
